Cake Shape Guides - Heart
Whether you are creating a vintage piped heart cake, or creating a standard heart shaped birthday or wedding cake. These guides will help you achieve that symmetrical heart shapes cake.
Our Original "Cake Shape Guides" are designed to help create beautiful cake shapes with Ease. They are designed to help you create smooth sides and sharp edges when making your cakes. Whether you are using ganache or buttercream.

We highly recommend sizing up. Measurement is taken from width of guide. The height of the cake guide in this shape is shorter than the width.
These guides are not designed to match any heart shape tin. They are designed to be used to carve the shape from your baked round cake.
If you have a mondo or similar heart tin, and want to use these guides, you can size up. You will still however have to trim the cake a bit to fit the shape of the guide. And of course trim excess is that there is room between your cake and guides.
These are lovingly hand made in our shop and require approx. 2 business days before dispatch.
2 x heart shaped acrylic guides
Wash your guides in warm soapy water. They are not dishwasher safe. Avoid boiling water as the guides will warp out of shape.
- Cover the guides in cling wrap or use baking paper in between the guides and the icing. This makes them easy to remove at the end.
- Align the guides with your scraper and then pop into the fridge to set. This way when you are icing you will have a symmetrical shape. When using buttercream you will need to do this several times throughout the process as it returns to room temp.
- Once finished place the whole cake in the fridge to set before trying to remove the guides. This way the icing will be set and they will come off easier.
- You can use buttercream or ganache with the guides, however, we highly recommend ganache as once set, it stays set without refrigeration.
